Intercultural Management: a Norwegian/Scandinavian perspective
In today's global world an understanding of what happens when people from different cultures meet and work together is quintessential for managers and leaders. We focus on the meeting of Scandinavian/Norwegian cultures with other cultures in the international business arena. This context will procide the backdrop for understanding and applying the research on culture, communication and management in some specific global industries where Norwegian firms have excelled. We will also investigate when people from different cultures meet in the Scandinavian context where values of gender equality dominate and specific employment rules and rights must be applied. The course will be run using lectures, cases, group work and company visits.
