Semester and Year-long Study Abroad Opportunities
These programs are only available for undergrad students in the College of Business. Students can apply for all programs for either a semester or a year-long study abroad except for City University in London and ESADE in Spain. These programs are only available for a single semester because of their high demand. Application deadlines for all semester study abroad programs are Feb. 15th and Sept. 15th of the semester prior to studying abroad. All of our programs offer a sufficient number of courses in English. Some programs also offer classes in the home language of the country. You will be able to take business courses in all of our study abroad programs. At some institutions, you will also be able to take courses that meet general education requirements. We recommend that you apply for a study abroad program as early as you can in your studies at the University of Illinois, so that you will have enough flexibility in your schedule to get the most out of your study abroad experience.
Study abroad spots are given out first in the fall. Any remaining spots will be given in the spring. If location is your highest priority, you will want to apply to study abroad in the fall.
If finances are an important consideration, please keep in mind that the U.K. and Norway both have a high cost of living compared to the U.S. Also, housing in London and Paris, because of the locations, is more expensive than the housing on our other programs.

Vienna is the historic capital of the multinational Habsburg Empire.
It is a melting pot of languages and cultures, and the crossroads
between East and West. This program is run in conjunction with the German
Department at the University of Illinois. Classes are available in either German or in English, and there are German-language courses available at all level of instruction, so this is an excellent program if you would like to take classes for a German minor. There are cultural programs available,
including an optional ski week for those students studying abroad in the spring. There is also an on-sight University of Illinois faculty member
in Vienna who will be there to assist you. A buddy program is available. Because of the ski trip, spring is a better semester for this program than fall, but it is available both fall in spring. NORWAY
Norwegian School of Management
BI, School of Marketing - Oslo, Norway
Modern campus with a "buddy system" so students feel instantly
part of the school community. It's a great location for marketing
majors but is open to all of our College of Business majors. The new business facility is ultra modern and includes a grocery store, hair stylists and workout facilities. Students going to Norway have their option of two different places to live, including one that is next to a cross country ski track. This program is also open to MBA students.

I rate the exchange program with BI as a very good one.
I think that students should know that it is a good location for
all business majors and an excellent, highly ranked business school.
It is also very friendly to foreigners, clean, and safe.
It is in a great position to travel from and close to many other countries in Europe.
