Scholarships
CIBER Scholarships
The Center for International Business Education and Research (CIBER) provides financial support for College of Business students participating their Global Business Certificate program. Deadlines are in April and early October for those traveling the following semester. Apply.
Univeristy of Illinois Scholarships
Students interested in obtaining scholarships should review the information online about University scholarships that are available. For some of these scholarships, you will need to sign up a year before your trip, so plan ahead. Business students should always apply for the International Business scholarships.
Leiby S. Hall Scholarships
The College of Business offers six $2,500 scholarships that will be given out annually to juniors or seniors who are U.S. citizens on semester study abroad programs through the College of Business International Programs.
The first preference will be given to juniors and seniors attending College of Business semester study abroad programs in the fall. Any remaining scholarships will be allotted in the spring. Students who go on study abroad programs in the fall also have a better chance of getting their first choice of destination than students who study abroad in the spring.
Application
A separate application is not necessary for the Leiby S. Hall Scholarships. The College uses the study abroad application as a scholarship application and automatically considers all students applying for College of Business Study Abroad programs for scholarships. Students will be notified about the scholarship awards the first week of October or March at the same time they find out whether they have been accepted for a study abroad program. Apply online for a College of Business Study Abroad Program at www.studyabroad.uiuc.edu Applications are due March 1st and October 1st. Only students currently enrolled in the College of Business will be eligible to apply for College of Business semester study abroad programs.
Leiby S. Hall Scholarship Criteria:
Location
Students going to the universities where the College of Business has sent received more students than we have sent will be eligible to be considered for the Leiby S. Hall Scholarship.
Erasmus, The Netherlands
Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
Korea University Business School in Seoul, Korea
Nanyang Technological University in Singapore (Accountancy Only)
Norwegian School of Management in Oslo, Norway
Quinn School of Business in Dublin, Ireland
These locations are subject to change as the balance of students going to specific programs changes. There are more programs available for semester study abroad programs through the College of Business, but students applying for the programs listed here as either their first or second choice will be given priority for the Leiby S. Hall Scholarship.
